A Prayer, A Poem for the Toughest of Moments
You Lift My Eyes
Lord, at times life can be so hard
I wonder how I will continue on
Unable to see beyond the trial, the problem
I am defeated, confused, stressed
Coming to my end, no better off then
When I first began.
Hopelessness starts to settle in
My face drops to the ground
Then suddenly in my deepest despair
I feel a gentle touch.
Your hand reaches down from Heaven
You lift my eyes to the sky
To yourself, the Creator of all things
You shine your light in my heart
You give me courage to carry on
You remind me just who YOU are
My provider, my protector, my soul’s caretaker
You remind me that you are my Father,
My Heavenly Father, there is nothing that
Cannot be handled together.
“I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed to hungry, whether living in plenty or want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13
